What you see here is the result of many years of art education, teaching, and studio work coupled with my passion for natural materials, fabric art, and green awareness: reuse, recycle, repurpose.

My latest works are "slow stitched," completely hand sewn, inspired by the Japanese arts of Sashiko running stitch and Boro, the patchwork folk art of oft-mended work clothes. The spirit of my work is best described as "Wabi Sabi", the traditional Japanese aesthetic of beauty that is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete" characterized by asymmetry, asperity (roughness or irregularity), and the unexpected. The deliberate slowness of hand stitching is very intimate and satisfying and the uneven stitches give my new garments a refreshing innocence. Each piece is a work of love and Art to Wear.
