About

My name is Lori Hultman, I am a native of South Florida, currently living in Sarasota, Florida with my husband and three cats. We are lucky to live on a beautiful piece of property that allows us to create in an inspirational setting. My studios accomodate lampworking, fusing and kilncasting glass. I also have a fully equipped hot shop with a 140 pound electric furnace, two glory holes and a front loading annealer.
My creative career started when the stress of being a lawyer was becoming overwhelming. I could not afford to leave my career, but really needed something else in my life. Fortunately, while visiting Washington, D.C. for work, I discovered that wonderful store Beadazzled. It was my first beadstore ever and I fell in love with all those beads, glass, wood, plastic.

But it was the glass that really captured my interest. I bought jewelry pliers, a handful of beads, a few headpins and earwires. That night I made my first pair of earrings and I was hooked forever. Soon, searching for just the right beads prompted me to learn to make glass beads so my jewelry would be unique and more special. That led me into the thrilling, occasionally dangerous and definitely expensive, but happy addiction to hot glass. I love bright colors and the dazzling metallic glow of dichroic glass sparks my imagination, so it is often included in my creations.
My glass education includes glassblowing and flameworking classes at Pilchuck Glass School, Penland, Corning and at many private studios.
I am a co-founder, past President and member of the Suncoast Glass Guild, member of the Glass Art Society (GAS), the Pilchuck Society, the International Society of Glass Beadmakers, the Florida Flame Dragons, the Art Alliance for Contemporary Glass and the SW Florida Art Alliance for Contemporary Glass.
Private lessons in glass techniques are offered in my studio and I also accept commissions.
In addition to being an accomplished glass artist in the techniques of lampworking, glass fusing and furnace glass blowing, I am also a practicing trial lawyer in Sarasota and proud Gator, having received my undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Florida.
I hope you enjoy my work and thank you for visiting my shop!
