Lauren Rosenthal's Profile

About

Hi. I’m Lauren - an artist, environmentalist, unyielding optimist and complete sucker for love. Leya (which should really be spelled Leah, and is pronounced “lay-ah”) is my Hebrew name. I’m Love by Leya’s founder, owner, designer, collector, fabricator, business manager, and whatever else comes up.

Designing for Love by Leya, I get to illustrate ideas about the beauty of love and the strength in community – ideas that I believe in deeply.

My husband and I have another etsy shop together where we sell most of our retro finds (including items often used for wedding styling like antique mason jars and milk glass):

Some further thoughts about this little biz:

My commitment to the environment is unique among ketubah designers: I exclusively use Mohawk paper, a New York-based company with rigorous environmental standards that is 100% wind-powered; my clear packaging is made of biodegradable corn-based and post-consumer waste plastics; in addition, offering vintage & upcycled items appeals to me as a way of keeping goods that have already been produced in circulation and out of landfills, reducing the energy used to make new things. I am also strongly invested in providing unique, responsibly made, and finely crafted products at comparatively affordable prices. It is my firm belief that no one should have to break the bank to own something beautiful.
