About

I live and work out my studio in Walnut Creek California. I am native to Richmond Virginia where my mother, also a ceramic artist, taught me how to work in clay and her hand building techniques.

My unique approach to modern style incorporates both Western and Japanese themes,
and I am inspired by the ceramic artists of my mother's era such as Harris Strong, Lisa Larson, Stig Lindberg, Guido Gambone, Marcello Fantoni, the Raymor Ceramics Studio and the like out of Italy, West German Fat Lava, and the Brutalist Architecture movement.
