Welcome to Lucinda and Bluebird!

~ALL (well a little) ABOUT ME~

I am a true blue NC mountain girl, born and raised in Haywood County. After attending Appalachian State, I settled into a cool job at a private golf community and moved to Sylva with my adorable hubby. A year or so later I found myself accepting a teaching position (totally out of my comfort zone) back in my hometown, just over the mountain. At the ripe ole age of 30(ish), I am still going strong. I am now in my tenth year of teaching high school kiddos, and recently welcomed my first baby boy! Time sure does fly!

I have always loved making things and I’m pretty sure that I inherited this need for creativity from my grandmothers, who were actually the inspiration for my shop name. I grew up drawing, trying to paint and…

I grew up drawing, trying to paint and sew, and making jewelry out of whatever I could find. As I got older I started making more and more jewelry for myself and to give as gifts. After a long time of people telling me that I should start selling my jewelry, my mom opened a salon and I saw this as my “window of opportunity”. So, just for fun, I displayed a few items there. I have also enjoyed experimenting with watercolors, and love painting the dahlia-like flowers you will occasionally see in my shop. While hanging out with my husband’s family for Thanksgiving, my hubby’s grandmother helped me crochet my first chain. She patiently demonstrated the basic techniques and next thing I knew, I had finished my first scarf! Now I guess you could say I’m “hooked”! :)

I’m definitely still developing all my artsy ways. With a toddler in the house, I have enjoyed fewer moments to get creative, but I'm currently loving fun art prints...hopefully you dig them too!

~SHOP INFO~

Lucinda and Bluebird is a side project (and my little experiment). I sell printable art, jewelry, crocheted accessories, vintage finds, and the occasional watercolor painting. I find it hard to define my style. Lucinda and Bluebird items can be inspired by anything I encounter, from the latest fashions I see in a magazine to a childhood memory. As I add items to the shop, you may find something girly, classic, boho, or vintage…but hopefully, something you like!

I have created custom jewelry for individuals, as well as, wedding parties. So, if you see something you like, but want to put your personal twist on it, just convo me and we’ll see what we can create!
