About

I grew up in my grandparent's gift shop. After school my sister and I would walk to the shop, eat our snack, watch Scooby-Doo and The Brady Bunch, then do our homework. If there weren't any customers in the store my grandmother would be at her work bench creating beautiful wreaths and bows out of artificial and dried flowers and ribbons. I got her bits and scraps of left-overs to create with. That's were it all started.

I still like to work with bits and scraps. I use a lot of "little" supplies. I like to challenge myself to use what I have. Left-overs from one project can lead to something new and exciting.

Christmas ornaments made by my grandmother are my inspiration and jumping off point. Those hand crafted ornaments are always my favorites on her tree. I hope that my ornaments will be your favorites…

I have a BFA in Interior Design. I love creating beautiful things for the home. I am a stay-at-home mom and I love my job.

About the shop name...
Unni was my name at Skogfjorden, a Norwegian language camp in Minnesota. I was always Unni. And because I am a little nutty my friends there called me Luni Unni. Skogfjorden was the first place I felt I could truly be myself, and be accepted for myself.

I've been fortunate to have been listed in a bunch of cool treasuries. Go to http://www.etsy.com/treasury/search/luniunni to check them out.

My ornaments made the news December 2009! Check out the news clip!
