Linda Wulf Koenig's Profile

About

Hi! My name is Linda, and I combine my love for nature and quilting by creating original designs and turning them into one-of-a-kind, quilted wall hangings. These designs are born in my imagination or inspired by a photograph or a piece of fabric. Each one begins with raw-edged or satin-stitched applique layered on a batik, sky, or landscape-print background. Then it's embellished with embroidery, paint, markers, and various fibers. Almost all stitching is free-motion. The quilt is squared and blocked before it's bordered and/or bound with self-made binding, so that it will hang straight and never sag or become wavy. It's my hope that every time you look at one of these wall hangings, you'll experience the same sense of joy and peace that I felt creating it. For more about the process (techniques, mistakes, corrections and 'aha' moments), check out my quilting blog at: http://lwkoenig.blogspot.com/
