I have always been a "smelly" person! Scents can transport us back in time to recall our first love, new life, a welcoming kitchen or a special place in time. Scents can calm us or invigorate after a stressful day. I remember a bar of cedar/sage soap that I purchased 40 years ago! I was hooked on artisan soaps ever since and began to make my own soaps in 2008. I love the "magic" of saponification!
I began to sew as a girl involved with 4-H. To this day, I remember the joy and sense of excitement I had after creating my first sewing projects-a potholder and tea towel! My grandmother, Lydia, and my mom, Grace, were my inspiration. They made dolls, doll clothes, dresses, aprons, wedding gowns, and stuffed toys. I learned to sew on my grandmother's treadle machine.
