About

I’m a small town girl living in the big city with my husband, Charles, and my two Welsh Springer Spaniels, Daisy and Rowdy. We have a daughter, Amanda, and two granddaughters, Maddie and Stella (for whom my shop is named). A son-in-law, David, comes along with that.

Professionally, I began as an English teacher, but I worked as an interior designer and decorative painter for years. My interest in metalwork began with the stones just as the designs do. I fell in love with the beauty of cabochons and their stories. I never intended to make things to sell, but I have only one neck and two ears.

It’s important to me that my work goes to people who will enjoy it so I try to price things so that they will be acquirable. A percentage of sales will go to an animal charity so suggestions are welcome on that. I have great admiration for Etsy sellers and am thrilled that an outlet exists for talented women who might otherwise be hiding their lights. My mother was an incredibly gifted seamstress, and if Etsy had existed back then, it would have been wonderful. I purchase stones, beads etc, from Etsy sellers as much as possible, but I don’t keep track of things the way I should. I’m happy to give credit, though.

I collect illustrated children’s books and vintage books set in Greenwich Village. I am an unsuccessful gardener, but I keep trying. I’m active in the community and working with metals is relaxing….most of the time.
