Hello my name is Mary and I own and run Maguadagear.
So about the name Maguada is a nickname I have had for as long as I remember, one of my older brothers started calling me that and it just stuck. It is a mix between my first and middle name MAria GUADAlupe... Maguada.

I have been crocheting since I was about 11 years old my mom taught me to keep me busy and well i guess you could say.. I was hooked ;) (pun totally intended)

My father was sick and my mom would crochet to keep her hands and mind busy. One day she asked me what my favorite color was at the time it was Baby blue, she said she was going to make me something. I saw her crocheting and I was so intrigued by what she was doing I asked her to teach me. I saw her crocheting and I was so intrigued by what she was doing I asked her to teach me. On my 12th birthday I received what has to be the best gift I have ever received in my life a handmade blanket in baby blue from my mom. it was beautiful. I still have it and it still keeps me warm after 14+ years! it is definitely a blanket I will pass on to my children.

Ever since then I have been addicted to crocheting. I thought to myself if something as simple as yarn a metal hook and some love made into a blanket from my mom could make me so happy, I wanted to do the same for other people.

I love making blankets which do take lots of time and patience. (about 3 weeks depending on size) but in the end it is so worth it! :)

My brother lent me his sewing machine and well lets just say I have become very intrigued and quiet addicted to making things! I am still new at sewing things BUT soon it will become natural to me just like crocheting is.

I love project challenges and I love donating my projects to foundations and causes to raise money and any projects that don't get sold I always try my hardest to donate them to the hospitals or just people in need. :)
