About

I had the best grandmother when I was growing up. She had 12 grandchildren in all, and each one of us thought we were her special favorite one. That's the kind of grandmother I always hoped I could be. With 3 girls of my own, you would think that I wouldn't have to wait too long to be a grandmother. But alas, I waited such a long time, that I actually thought that I would not have that special honor - and then much to my surprise and delight....

In the last 6 years, my sweet husband and I have been blessed with 7 adorable and awesome grandchildren, 3 boys and 4 girls (3 little ladies in 2011 alone), they are my precious joys - and my inspiration as well!

Since I love making handmade things for babies and children, I always tried to crochet a baby blanket when anyone in the family (or friends) would be expecting. As a new grandmother too, my daughters frequently requested I create items for them that they had difficulty locating, or there was a lack of variety/quality they were looking for. I made special items for their friends too as they had children, who then in turn, wanted me to make something for their friend or family member, and almost out of necessity to fund my hobby (and with much technical, emotional, and financial help from my wonderful husband), my creative outlet became my amazingly fun business!

Some of my most rewarding crafting times is when I have the opportunity to make something with a particular child in mind. Please contact me if you are interested in a custom design for your special little one. Most of what you see on my site can be made-to-order in other sizes and/or colors, as well. The "turn around time" for custom work will vary depending on your order. You can conveniently contact me on my Etsy store (click on the "contact" button), and/or email me at info [!at] malloridesigns.com, phone me @ 410-474-3771, or visit my website at www.malloridesigns.com.

It is my goal to make uniquely designed handmade children’s essentials, quality gifts, and lasting keepsakes. So, I personally design all the patterns I use and make all the items myself, and I hope you think they are as adorable and fun as I do and with a very practical touch to them as well.

Thank you for your interest!
