Since I remember, I learned various handicrafts from my grandparents in a little village in the mountains. Bobbin lace though has been so deeply enrooted in my home region of Western Slovenia that there was also a Lace School where I enrolled when entering primary school. Learning bobbin lace technique is a tedious training in precision and patience which soon helped me winning international lace-making competitions. By the time I entered High School for Design, I was already recognized as one of the leading designers of lace patterns in the country.
