Mara Mednis' Profile

About

I rode my parents' coat tails into the art and craft business. My father was a Latvian silversmith and leathercrafter. My grandfather made still life miniatures. My mother and grandmother were award winning Latvian weavers and potters. Later in life, mom tried her hand at freehand machine quilting, and excelled there too.

I am very proud to say I was a winner of the 2010 and 2013 Madison Art Glass and Bead Show. For a fairly new beader, this was a great honor. And an inspiration to keep learning and perfecting my skills.

I create what I love, and I hope others will love it too. My mom is a constant supporter of my beading obsession, and a source of inspiration. New ideas just keep coming, and the biggest challenge is to find the time to make them a realty!
