I think I am an artist at heart but sadly have no ability to draw and as a result my artistic tendencies come out in the colors that I dye my wool.
I have lived in the North West of Ireland for more than 30 years and spent most of that time working in the hospitality industry. As I retired, I now have more time to do what I really enjoy and have started farming our land and I keep Wensleydale sheep, chosen for their beautiful wool which I prepare for knitting or spinning. My products might seem a little expensive but they are totally hand made, so hand made I would have helped the lamb into the world. All my dyed products are 'one offs' I produce small amounts of the color way and I can never really make the same again. The only part I do not do myself is the shearing of the sheep I am not strong enough for that part. I also love to use fleeces from other breeds of sheep and the occasional Alpaca that I get from…
