My husband/artist, Robbie Burger has been a major influence in my silk production. Robbie is always thinking out of the box. He came up the the crazy idea to print on silk. And that is another story. Going strong on 14 years.

Our silks are printed one at a time, each one being an original. We can print small runs up to 300 scarves to date.

OUR PROCESS:
Making scarves is an art in itself. It is a laborious process that has taken years to perfect. We use a warm white silk habotai so any color is available. We print up to 42" wide, any size is available. Our We have developed our own proprietary process using unique, extreme color USA dyes that are biodegradable and Made by an ink scientists located in New Jersey.

After printing the scarf we inspected it to make sure is is as good as it can be. If there is a drop of ink where it should not be we have to print it all over again. The scarves season overnight so the dyes are thoroughly embedded into the silk. We gently lay the scarves flat between layers of news print papers and steam the scarf for 3 hours. The silk rests overnight. In the morning we hand launder the silk in a silk setting solution to further set the dyes along with a bit of baby shampoo. The scarf is then rinsed in two baths. On the same day the scarf is pressed. The next day your scarf is packaged and shipped.

*TIFF or JPG file
* 180 DPI at the output size (your scarf size).
* Adobe 1998 Color Profile
* File should be a minimum of 5 to 20 megs, up is fine.

You can be assured that we use the purest silk available in the printing industry. Silk is a natural fiber that lets your skin breathe. Silk is hypoallergenic. Pure silk is an organic fiber may show natural flaws that add to the character of the silk.

ABOUT ROBBIE AND I:
My husband and I are both artists working together in creating our dream of printing on silk. I am a scarf designer, photographer. My artist husband is the print master in our business. We love what we do and every scarf we make is precious to us.

We are celebrating our 14th year in business. Our first order with Etsy was in 2011.

* We have no minimum charge or set up fee.
You can save money and layout your own scarf design. Follow the file
specifications below. Or if you prefer I can layout your file for you. $10.00 per photo, plus the scarf size. Vignetted photos , add $5.00 each.

* W can give you a price our design. You will receive a soft proof for corrections befor we printing.
* Payment must be made before we start your order.
* If we start on your scarf design, send you proofs, if for any reason you decide NOT to go further on ordering your scarf or scarves, layout or design time is still due.

* State of Florida orders pay State Sales Tax, % depends on the county.
If you do not have all of these specifications, that's OK, please send us the highest resolution file you have through Etsy message system or www.wetransfer.com.

My team consists of, me, Marlena Burger,, designer/artist/photographer. My husband, artist, Robbie Burger, and our ink chemist.

The dyes we use are state of the art, designer dyes, made in the USA.
Our out of the gamut printers dyes, these are the same dyes high end NY designers are using, like Calvin Klein. Manufactured by American Inkjet Systems, NJ. Our designer textile dyes are beyond the color range ( out of the printers gamut) of standard inks, including Epson OEM inks. We have dyes colors of fuschia, blue violet, lime green hot pink deep red, and a velvet black that is really deep black.

Our pure, warm white silk fabric comes in rolls 42" wide by 50 foot so we can print any size. We use 2 different types of silk. Our 8 momme (mm) Habotai silk is for silk scarves and wraps. We use 10 momme silk for tuxedo linings. Our heavier 19.5 mm charmeuse is best for, pocket squares, table runners, vests, kimonos, wall hangings, pillow covers, draperies or other decorative items.

Our scarves are pre washed before you receive them. The image of our scarves shows equally on both sides. Our pure silk scarves are a light weight for year round. The silk has a subtle sheen with a buttery soft hand, flowing with one's movements. When you receive your scarf it may not feel very soft at first but that improves greatly after 2 or 3 times of usage.

About me, Marlena Burger:
After high school, I am a graduated from Patricia Stevens Career College where I studied, Fashion Merchandising and Modeling. I am a FL photographer of over 40 years, specializing in Florida Florals and FL sunsets, Originally from Ohio, I have lived in FL for over 40 years with my husband and artist, Robbie.

As a child living in our large rented brick farm house, I used to love playing in the large barn or catching tadpoles in the pond, discovering nature's wonderful mysteries. Everything seemed enchanted, I felt like Alice in Wonderland. As an adult I still feel like Alice in Wonderland on an amazing adventure. I also believe that our thoughts become our reality and anything is possible.
