Mary Coromelas' Profile

About

When I was young I spent summers visiting my grandparents in Greece. In the afternoons the village would become quiet during its siesta.

During that time, the only thing to do was to play cards.  On one such occasion I remember missing the king of spades, so I copied one to make the deck complete. My grandparents were so impressed that they asked the local artist to give me lessons. That summer sparked my love for art as I completed my first set of drawings and oil paintings.

The years have passed quickly since that summer.    As I reflect on carefree summers spent in the Mediterranean village of my ancestors, my art strives to create a similar calm and peaceful feeling.

Thank you for letting me share my art with you.
