Cara Corey's Profile

About

Crafting has been a part of my life since I was a kid tying knots for friendship bracelets, but I didn't really embrace it until I learned to knit in 2004. Then I taught myself to crochet and began creating scarves, hats, gloves and blankets. I couldn't move my needles fast enough.

Somewhere along the way I realized that the point of making your own things — to be creative, thrifty, and not let anything go to waste — was what my grandmother, Mary Marie Mason, had always done. So I named my knitting business after her.

If the economic downturn taught us anything, it was that you can not only make do with what you already have, but you can make it beautiful. That's what I try to do.
