About

I have always loved to sew! I started with 4-H and continued in home ec class in high school and kept going for 40 more years. During those years I have made many things, for myself and for other people. Fifteen year ago I received a Dachsund puppy from my very good friend Jackie. Because he is so long in body and short in legs, I have always had to make his coats to his measurements. My friends, Sally and Kathy, liked my coats and asked if I could make some for their dogs. Kathy liked a coat she found at a dog show that had legs. She has Schnauzers, both show dogs and pets, that needed coats so I started making them for her. Sally loved them too so I made some for her. Then Sally's friend Merrilee needed some for her dog, her daughter's dog and her best friends dog. I had so much fun making them and getting creative with the fleece fabric and ribbing. Kathy's dog Stella (wire fox terrier) and Augie, a schnauzer, were both entered and…

Kathy's dog Stella (wire fox terrier) and Augie, a schnauzer, were both entered and accepted at Westminister this year. Kathy wanted a very elegant coat for Stella so I decided that embroidered snow flakes, fuzzy sweater trim and Swarovski chrystal embellishments would be very "cool". So that's how I did Stella's coat and for good measure I made a scarf of the same fabric, embroidery and embillishment for Kathy. The set was a great hit. Thus the Show Coat came into being. I decided that the coats for the pets (the coat with legs) would be a play coat. That works as the dogs wear them outside to play and also inside on chilly days as we all keep our heat set a little lower now. Sometimes the Play Coats get pretty fancy too, but hey, the pets who are mostly retired champions deserve special too. I would like to share my very special coats and scarves with you and your dog.

Because there are so many creative possibilities in sewing, I have decided to expand my shop to include more items such as 18" doll cloths and items for gifts to yourself or others

Thank you for reading my story. I hope you will find something you love.
