I make metal clay, etched metal, dichroic/fused glass and beaded jewelry with an ethnic flair, finding design inspiration from my travels and career as an Anthropologist. I am PMC Certified and have learned from some of the best metal clay artists, like Barbara Becker Simon, Holly Gage and Gordon Uyehara. I love working with fine silver, but am very partial to base metal clays because of the surprising variations in patina that result from firing, along with their ancient feel.

I am also an abstract expressionist painter inspired ultimately by Kandinsky who above all valued truth over beauty, expressing the essence of the Self. I paint with acrylics, charcoal and pastels, using mixed media collages. I am inspired by the art of indigenous cultures around the world for both my jewelry and paintings.
