About

Hi! :)

I am Maya and I live in Athens with my Greek husband and our two wonderful daughters.

My life up to now has been pretty much of an adventure. I grew up in Serbia (or Yugoslavia back then) in the 80s, the pre-Internet Era, but my passion for communicating with people all over the world led me to become a member of IYC (International Youth Center) in Norway and have pen-pals all over the world. I enjoyed sending and receiving letters, exchanging postcards and dreaming about travelling to exotic places.
This passion led me to study English Language and Literature, (with emphasis on Literature, my big love) and earn Master's Degree.
So I started a teaching career, but my always present love for visual arts didn't leave me at peace. In 2005 I took up photography, and started…

About

Hi!

In 2005 I took up photography, and started seriously sharing my work online on international photography forums (got a few prizes!) , which I enjoyed tremendously. In 2006, I met online another passionate photographer and an English teacher himself - my present husband!
In 2008, we got married and I moved to live in Athens, Greece.
This somehow opened my eyes to the beauty of handmade - I enjoyed decorating our apartment and made almost half of it myself : shelves, coffee table, even my working desk. The world of design quickly got under my skin and this is how I discovered Etsy. It has been such a great inspiration and I am so happy to be a part of this great community.
I love the idea of ETSY - supporting independent artist all around the world. I am also a buyer here - whenever I can, I buy from my fellow Etsians :)

Apart from this, I enjoy bike riding, visiting new cities, and good SF movies! ...and I still dream of those exotic places :))
