About

I was born in a kibbutz in Israel, raised into a self-sustaining, communal lifestyle; we learned to live by the principles of a collective existence.

All of our clothes were sewn in the local workshop, basic, simple, long lasting and the same for everyone. Twice a year we would receive a new pair of shoes and a new pair of sandals. Red for the girls, and brown for the boys, they too were made in the workshop.

To ‘dress up’ was a provocative term; clothes were seen strictly as a necessity, made to serve their sole purpose.

The memories of my childhood are embedded with the smell of that workshop, a potent scent of leather and glue. With the smell of the warehouse where, for the very first time, I got two private evening outfits that were just mine!…

With the smell of the warehouse where, for the very first time, I got two private evening outfits that were just mine!

Once a year glossy catalogues would arrive in the post from America. A magical joy would awaken inside of me as I flicked through pages upon pages of choices, in awe at the sight of endless variety, my heart earned for the possibilities. I would escape into a fantasy where I’d imagine all the new clothes I would buy.

There, in the depths of my humble childhood, birthed my love for other times, for glamorous clothes, for colourful women…for the stories of individuality compressed into layers of lace and fabric.
Following a fulfilling career in cinema I decided to return to my roots and opened a vintage/second-hand store.

Whether I find or receive it, every single item reveals a whole new world to me.
A story, an adventure, a life lived. Every item is a script, a short movie and a big love.
That love is presented to you here.

May we always celebrate, encourage and stay true to our individuality.
