Merri Monsters was dreamed up by Merriellen ZoBell from the Slocan Valley, B.C. At home with her young daughter, she returned to her childhood love of crafting. She was influenced by her mother who was extremely talented with creating all sorts of children's toys. She would attend many craft fairs with her while growing up.
Merri Monsters came to her one night in a dream. She woke up, dusted off her mother's old sewing machine and started ripping up her daughters baby clothes. This inspired Merriellen to use recycled clothing. While growing up on a farm her mother Ellen ZoBell, taught the family the importance of recycling, and also brought "Kids for saving Earth" program to Raymond Alberta (the small town where they are from).
Merri Monsters were also inspired by her 2 year old daughter Cheyenne who is a Merri Monster herself. Using the Moby…
