I have a fine arts degree from University of Washington School of Art. My career has been as a graphic designer, except for three years as editor of doll making and crafting magazines. I also styled the crafts for photoshoots on location—what fun that was!
For eleven years I worked as graphic designer/art director at a university. I currently do freelance graphic design along with my jewelry making.
My father taught me to build things, and my mother owned a fabric shop and taught me to sew, knit, and crochet. I have always designed and made things: a cat house, dolls, puppets, a bead-a-day bracelet for a friend undergoing radiation, slipcovers, and so forth. I have made jewelry for myself for a long time.
