Maureen's Profile

About

Born and raised in New England I am the youngest of 5 children.

My mom taught me at a preschool age to craft. Using home made paste and felt I began my creative years making pillows, fun pieces and whatever else I could glue with some type of style. When in the 8th grade I learned to sew and by my sophmore year I was making dresses for my girlfriends and have continue to sew throughout my adult life.

As a young adult I took 2 painting classes, one for painting on material and one for wood. From there I took off. I had as many paint bottles in my craft room as I did material in the closet :) My love of woodworking and power tools came later as I began to design and cut my own wood.

While living in Alaska and working full-time, my painting and sewing became a full-time/part-time pleasure. My hubby converted our single car garage into my painting studio. My sewn and wood pieces were sold to coworkers; at the summer long Anchorage Farmers-Artisan Market; jury approved craft shows; and at the Hudson News store located in the Ted Stevens International Airport.

I earned the certification from the Made-In-Alaska board to carry their logo on my products for over 10 years.

I earned a degree in Business Management, I have been married 45 years, BUT... my greatest success in life is that I am a Breast Cancer survivor!

Thank you for reading my profile. I look forward to working with you.

Sincerely,
Maureen/mgl5213
