About

I was born in Southwestern Pa., the daughter of a coal miner. Mom was a housewife and stayed at home to raised 4 daughters and a son. I remember her holding up newspaper to our chest and cutting out a pattern to make us a new dress for school or church. The clothing she made was always a perfect fit, and the dresses had set in sleeves too. Sometimes there were yoke fronts with lace and button and sashes that tied into a big bow in the back. She taught all of her daughters to sew, cook, bake and can from the garden that Daddy planted. I am very pleased to say that all of my sisters are very talented and still keep with that tradition today. I am so fortunate to have grown up in that era. Wouldn't want to change a thing.

My passion and " theraphy " has always involved sewing, designing and all forms of needlework. These days I am hooked on machine embroidery as well. I make handbags, pillows, aprons, quilt blocks, table runners, wall hangings, masquerade mask, monograms, lace and accessories. I will use embroidery, handmade flowers, Swarovski crystals, and many forms of embellishments in my work. I have been told I have enough fabric, threads, and notions in my studio to open a store. But I can't part with any of it. Not yet.

"A Place To Dream". That is what I refer to my studio as. Here is where I bring my fabrics and threads to life in imaginative gifts and accessories. I begin with thoughts of color and texture first. There is an awakening as I start a new project and I follow where ever it may take me. I draft my own patterns and rarely use commercial ones.

Hobbies: I have a few. Golf, Painting, Gardening, Mosaics, Knitting, Crocheting, and Fishing.
I love Dancing with my husband
