I started working with wood in shop class when I was 12 years old, and haven't stopped since. I've lived in the mountains of northwest North Carolina for the past 30 years, and have been a home builder since 1983. Cornerstone does custom homes, cabinetry and trim work. I enjoy collecting interesting wood from fallen trees. Friends and family members often let me know of trees that come down in their yards or places of business. I always use locally grown hardwoods from the mountains around my home. I enjoy making bowls, wine stoppers, cabinets and jewelry boxes in addition to the finish work I do in the homes we build. I've been married to my wife Lisa since 1980, and we have three grown children and one grandson. In addition to woodworking, I love spending time with my family. I fish, ride mountain bikes, play guitar and banjo and have done some volunteer building on overseas Christian mission trips with my local church.
