About

I am an avid mineral collector and loved living and working in the beautiful north of Idaho. We are a University of Idaho family (Go Vandals!) and enjoy digging, hiking, and water sports in our spectacular outdoors. My work has recently brought me to the beautiful island of St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands, where I now reside until my work moves us again. I do hope that will be in the distant future; St. Croix is absolutely spectacular!

I am a professional mineralogist, consulting geologist, and Professor of Geology with more than 25 years of experience in both the mining and oil/gas industries. In my off time I am a volunteer instructor for the Northwest Natural Resources Institute for their geology and mining programs. I lecture at schools, symposiums, and mineral clubs around the region; I consult for writers on their screenplays and manuscripts for geological content, and as an Eagle Scout myself, I teach the Geology Merit Badge to Boy Scouts.
