Yes, there actually was an Uncle Mint. He was a salty old guy and always had a cold bottle of 7-up waiting for me when I came over to visit him and my Aunt Mary. Yes, there actually was an Uncle Mint. He was a salty old guy and always had a cold bottle of 7-up waiting for me when I came over to visit him and my Aunt Mary. There were stuffed animals on the walls, plastic on the furniture and a deck of cards always sitting on the dining room table ready to be shuffled. I guess that the old wartime photos, broken watches, knives and coins from exotic countries made the world seem a bit more exciting to a kid growing up in a small town in Wisconsin. This is where my love of the old took hold. Over the years I've often kept the treasures I've found to myself or given them as gifts, but I realized recently it might be fun to share. So that's why I opened Uncle Mint's Trunk. I hope you see something you like. And remember, for every deer head you see mounted on a wall, the other end may not be far away.
