About

I am Elizabeth Anne Algren Iovino. I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, business owner, seamstress, gardener and avid Red Sox fan. I care deeply about those in my life and firmly believe we all touch each others’ lives for a reason. Good or bad, every situation teaches us a life lesson, it is what you do with the lesson that counts.

I have been left-brained/right-brained challenged my entire life. I was always the treasurer of the lemonade stand, but also designer of clothes for my dolls and creator of gardens in the yard. I graduated from Providence College in 1985 with a degree in Accounting and worked in the field until 2009, a difficult year that included the passing of my mother, Helen Mary Kelly Algren. She was my inspiration, and I decided to make a few bold changes in her honor, including closing my accounting practice to pursue this venture of designing and handcrafting quality handbags, totes and accessories. After some initial success, I continue to pursue the design of the perfect bag…

MIO Bags began with a simple idea - to make products with both form and FUNction! As a mother, I am always looking for products that streamline my life and are easy to clean. As a woman, I want products that make me look great! MIO Bags combine the two into one. Who say you can't be practical and pretty at the same time? Oilcloth makes this easy.

My mission is simple: to provide the best products and service to our customers as possible. I take great pride in this company, our commitment to customer service and in the products we sell. Take a look around the site and see what you think. I am always open to design ideas, so if you see a product that could use a little tweaking, or you'd like to special order a bag in your choice of fabrics, drop me a note and I will see what I can come up with to help you along.
