About

Hi, I'm Nancy. And I'm miss pok-a-dot.

Funny name right? Yes, I know it's spelled wrong (I get that question a lot). I'm not sure where the spelling, or even the name comes from. I'm a graphic designer and while I was working (in the real world), it seems most of the things I designed ended up being round or the layout was spherical or something in an orbital shape. So when I decided it was high time to turn my invitation hobby into a for-reals business, the name just sort of came to me. And it stuck. Sometimes I think of changing it to something more hip, but now we are one in the same, so I gotta keep her.

Anyway, so I went to school and got that BFA. I am completely obsessed with anything in the design world; print, packaging, interior... I love it all. I have a calling and a passion to create! I officially launched miss pok-a-dot in 2008 at the National Stationery Show in NYC. At first my stuff sold exclusively to the trade, like in shops all over the country. I even got all fancy and miss pok-a-dot was sold at Neiman Marcus and Horchow (boom!). But when I decided I'd like to sell my own products, naturally etsy and I were a match made in heaven.

I am a wife and a mother to 3 awesome kiddos. I know it's cliché, but I really do have the best job in the world. I get to stay home and raise my kids, work in my pjs and make money by creating what I love. Who could ask for anything more?

My style is a whole lotta preppy, a little bit o' southern and just a tad quirky. I like to call it "sophisticated fun". My favorite color is green, and my favorite color combo is pink, green and navy. I love patterns, especially stripes. Oh yeah... and polka dots. Enjoy!
