How and why I started making and selling jewelry.
I come from a creative background, my mother and grandmother made their own clothes and never had housekeepers. I grew up through the Depression years so I knew the value of money, what little we had, hard work and making do. When I married the love of my life, he was also from a similar background. His father died at the age of 42 and his mother never remarried. When I met her she was working a split shift as an operator at the telephone company.
My husband worked nights as a copy boy at the Los Angeles Examiner and went to UCLA daytime where we met. We didn’t have much extra money during the first few years of married life, but managed somehow. Love does conquer all.
