About

A few years back, I was racking my brain trying to find a gift for my never-know-what-on-earth-to-get-her mom. She keeps telling us kids not to buy any more "stuff" but I had on hand a few of my grandmother's old costume jewelry pieces. Knowing that none of us would wear them I dissembled the necklaces and created for her a rosary. The idea was it would bring her warm thoughts about her own mother whenever she held it to pray. Well she loved it, and double bonus, I enjoyed making it. So much so I kept going and made a few more with other vintage necklaces I had collected. I love the tactile feeling of the old beads, their uniqueness, and their look of days past. Plus all the history vintage beads bring to an already heavily loaded item such as a rosary.

I search flea markets, antique stores, resale shops, garage sales, attic sales, and the occasional church bizarre (you name it I've been there), looking for vintage or just plain old jewelry that can be repurposed into my one-of-a-kind, no-two-alike, just-for-you handmade rosaries, chaplets and jewelry. I may add in some new beads or findings to improve the overall design aesthetics, however, each piece is at least 80 to 99.9% repurposed beads. The rosary centers and crucifixes are antique reproductions, however many of the medals and some of the crucifixes are old and were found at the above mentioned places. More detailed information will be mentioned for each piece in the listing.
