Molly Acord's Profile

About

When I was little, I used to make macrame necklaces and sell them to the neighborhood. Perhaps they were just buying my items to be nice to a little girl, but it encouraged my dream to sell handmade items. I love to "make" things which is where the shop's name came from: Molly Anne Make.

My father is a farrier and blacksmith by trade and has always taught me to pursue creative outlets. He taught me the bravery of building something from nothing and affirmed me as an artist.

I graduated college with a degree in elementary education, and soon after my husband and I started to grow our family. I found myself at home with our baby and needing an outlet to stimulate the "maker" in me and that could also bring extra income to our young family.

I discovered ETSY and realized it was just the market I needed to sell handcrafted gifts while staying home to nurture my family. I started making some monogrammed burp cloths for my little babe and a few gifts for friends. I placed a few items on ETSY and it was so thrilling to sell to people online. My customers have always had the best ideas - like making a monogrammed blanket! I found the softest materials I could find that could withstand several washings, and made a personalized keepsake that can be used everyday to soothe and comfort a child.

Since each blanket is made to order with the child's name, I needed a crew of hardworking and talented women to help me keep up with the demand. Thank you for allowing us to create, supporting female makers, and buying handmade.
