About

I am a 79 year old grandmother who loves to quilt (by hand) and make pretty things for friends and family. I recently transplanted from the mountains of West Virginia to the flatlands of eastern North Carolina.

I also love to take old quilt tops that people have laying around and don't know what to do with and repair them and make them into a treasure. Just convo me if you have one of those you would like finished by hand quilting.

I also love to travel, read, bake, and make goodies for everyone I know at Christmas and other holidays. My first love after my grandchildren and great-grandchildren is hand-quilting and fabric collecting, especially vintage fabric like my mother used back when I first started quilting about 60 years ago. I do all my quilting by hand-a dying art but I hope it never dies in my lifetime…

My mother never taught me to quilt but she instilled the love of quilting in me at an early age. Back when I was a child, the man of the house "ruled" the roost and I watched as my mother sneaked pieces of fabric into the grocery order when my Dad took her shopping for groceries each week on payday.. He knew she was doing it and she knew that he knew, but it was a game they played. He enjoyed the quilts she made but I don't think he ever understood "why you cut up all those tiny little pieces and then sew them back together again". She made some beautiful quilts and I vividly remember all those bright yellows, reds, greens, blues, oranges. Good stuff that was!

I love yard sales, estate sales, flea markets and I enjoy going to them immensely. I have a son in Richmond, Virginia and that town has the best estate and rummages sales ever! I take myself up to Richmond every chance I get! Love that town!

Thanks for visiting my shop. I love visitors and I am always available to answer questions or just chat for a while.

I have another shop on Etsy - BuffCreekFarmhouse - in which I sell my treasured estate, thrift shop and other finds that I no longer have room to display.
