About

About me, what to say? I'm a stay at home single mom of a beautiful 18 month old girl! She's the light of my life, and after just over a year of working fulltime and overtime hours to take care of her on my own, not spending nearly enough time with her, I decided to quit my job so I could be at home with her.

Not being someone who likes to sit idly and watch the world go by, I needed something to do with my hands. That meant a lot of baking and candy making (I went to culinary school to be a pastry chef, and might be going back to work; I just love it so much!), some painting (I have some pieces of my own up in my home), and finally, a few sewing projects.

Where I got my idea: my boyfriend has been at the same job for 3 1/2 years now, and for the last year and a half or so, he's been pretty miserable there. The place isn't doing well,…

The place isn't doing well, the management doesn't do anything, and he's basically their workhorse. After watching him come home stressed almost to tears for a month straight, I came up with a silly and fun idea to try to put a smile on his face: Mr. Dummy!

The original Mr. Dummy is black with glow-in-the-dark targets and logo, sitting proudly on my boyfriend's desk at work for his coworkers to see, occasionally gored with pins, thumbtacks, etc. Making him smile with that fun toy gave me the idea that maybe--just MAYBE--other people are in the same or similar positions, and REALLY need an outlet. And so, Mr. Dummy Dolls began.

I've seen tons of voodoo stress dolls online, some very rustic and realistic, some modern and obviously manufactured. But one thing I haven't really seen is a variety of silly shapes, things people find irritating on a normal basis, random (and sometimes a little mature) items... Why aren't they on the market?

So I started drawing, and I started patterning, and I started sewing. Slowly but surely, I'm creating new characters for your viewing and poking pleasure. I'm always on the lookout for new ideas, so please PLEASE tell me if there's something you want but don't see! I am MORE than open to suggestion, and if you request something I'm more than happy to create and post it so you can have it for your very own!

Please remember, all items are hand-designed and hand-crafted by me, and me alone, so if it takes a bit of time for me to put more up or for new designs to appear--I do apologize. But keep your eye on my shop so you won't miss my new creations! The more smiles I create, the better!

...Back story...
I was taught how to make dolls by my Grandma Ray, and I've always had a place in my heart for it. I will be posting more items as time goes by, including children's toys, dolls, etc. Be on the lookout! I have no intention of stopping at the little things, so don't be afraid to tell me what you're looking for!

Enjoy!
