Generally speaking “Nothing is impossible” has been my motto with good planning!
INTEREST:
As an Indigenous resident of the area from the Pipiimaram/Tongva/Gabrielino band of Mission Indians of Southern California, I take great pride and feel I have a unique understanding of this area. Also my Father was a Longshoreman for over 35 years, my uncles were fishermen, my mother & aunts and great grandmother (for 50 years) worked in the canneries. My grandfather worked on building the breakwater, City Hall and bridges in the area. Since living in this area for most of my life and my family has been here since the beginning of time (according to our creation story) and as an artist, I have great interest in developing art from a unique point-of-view. My Native America name is: Sutimiv-Pa’alat : means-“the one that makes a place for those that want to come”, if I can make a place for those that want to come I continue to fulfill my mission in life.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Some called us Renaissance Men others called us Monsters, but they all said we worked on Mount Olympus and were a hell of a talented group! Before Computers there were guys that just knew how to draw and paint! I was recruited by Walt Disney himself, "Hey, Kid come to work for me, you'll have a great time." Walt gave me a four year scholarship to Chouinard Art Institute and I worked for Disney and had a good time! Working with people like Herb Ryman (our mentor), Walt Peregoy, Frank Armitage, X, Gary Goddard, Phil Mendez, John DeCuir Sr.& Jr., Jack Smith, Bucky Minster Fuller, David Negro, Eddie Martinez ( Mentor & Partner) and many more of the worlds talented. I was one of those Dreamers for Walter Elias Disney (WED).
