I am a stay at home mom of a very active five year old girl. I enjoy teaching her the ways of country life - from animal husbandry to lessons in nature.

Our family has a fairly large flock of Registered Jacob Sheep. They are a rare heritage breed and are listed as "Threatened" in the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy. The Jacobs are a multi-horned breed having, on average, two to four horns in both ewes and rams. They come in two colors, lilac and white (which is a range of browns), and black and white - the latter being more common.

We focus on fleece quality, mothering, structure, and hardiness here at Mud Ranch. We strive to have a diverse flock in order to "Preserve a Heritage Breed" like our slogan says. They are raised as organically as possible, without the use of pesticides and chemicals.
