We are trying to save an ancient (About 2000 year old leaf art form) from extinction and to introduce this beautiful art to America. Rice straw art is ancient art for which developed before our existing knowledge of color application became known. The art consists of using the natural colors of the dried leaves of the rice plant to form straw collage of unsurpassed beauty. No artificial color, dye or paint is added to the natural color of the rice straw. The glue used in this art is called gum Arabic (Sap from a tree) and the tool used shape straw is a primitive shaped (Spear shaped) instrument. Double edged razor blade is used to cut the straw in to proper places. This unique art is on the list of endangered art and only less than 100 artist practices this unique leaf art.
