Monica Christiansen's Profile

About

Welcome to myCUE!
My name is Monica Christiansen. I am a young artist living in the Gilbert, AZ area.

Since I choose to act on creative impulses, expect to be taken by surprise.
The art I create will be ever-changing in theme, style, and medium.
Come back often to discover new and exciting things.

My creations are unique as they are varied. I set aside the notions of what will be “popular” or what fits the “trend.” I allow myself to become lost in creation – untainted, unlimited creation.

If there is a particular something that pulls on your heartstrings, and you’d like to see more like it, let me know!

~~In case you’re wondering… why the variety?…

~~In case you’re wondering… why the variety?
Well, there’s a bit of a story here.
As an art student in college, it didn’t take very long to realize that I would never be satisfied with one artform. I want to paint. I want to draw. I want to sculpt. I want to arrange to design to photograph to carve to sew to cook to build to assemble to print…
…to CREATE.

I see the beauty around me, and I want to be a part of it.

I am inspired by everything.

If my inspiration is unlimited, should not my creations be limitless, as well?

And so, I have learned to EMBRACE MY CUE.

What is my cue?
Life gives us cues. Random sparks of creativity, inviting us to act.
I used to suppress these, in the effort to maintain a certain artistic “focus” or “direction” or “voice.”
But the yearnings to branch out and try new things are just too powerful to ignore!
And so I embrace my cue.

And I encourage YOU to embrace YOUR cue!
