Living in Saugerties, NY for most of my life I guess there was no escaping the art world as it is the little neighboring town of the famous and creative town of Woodstock N.Y. And you know, the old saying goes, “If you can’t beat them, join them!”

Back in the day age 21 and a single mother of 2 boys I managed to open my first business On Partition street called "Rayann's Kiddie Citie", I was selling Unique second hand and handmade childrens wear and gear with one rack of ladies vintage, and a showcase counter with vintage jewelry that was given to me by a client from my side job of home health aide. At first I just saw the stuff as something shiny to fill the space at the counter .But the more I touched it and played with these things of…

At first I just saw the stuff as something shiny to fill the space at the counter .But the more I touched it and played with these things of the past I soon fell in love with them. A deep love that would really set the stage for my career and future (little did I know)
Vintage clothing and jewelry came in full force soon after and out went the baby stuff and in came a much larger store a little further up on partition street in Saugerties NY. Again the more I handled the vintage and studied it I fell in love with it all.
soon it took off in a whirlwind and that blossomed into a 25 year career in fashion history and historic costume/set designing for motion picture, photography, and theater.
In between there were a few tea rooms, art galleries and boutiques.
In my new life at age 49 When all is quiet I'll go into the studio and wind down and play with my stash with my husband jake.We are always hunting, fixing, cleaning, and recreating vintage jewelry, accessories, and small oddities that catch our eye in our daily travels. We Have an autistic 12 year old named Adrian also known as :The Boy Wonder"
He is very quickly learning the vintage Junking ways and is a very big part of the goings on.
Jake also lends his artistic talents into the mix at the shop as well. He does all the fiber works and assorted creative projects. And is known as JMW Fiberworks his crafts will sometimes show up in listings here on etsy as well.
Throughout all the years of creative jobs I managed to bury myself under a massive collection of buttons, beads, baubles, paper, jewels, fabrics, trims and all that glitters. Most of these treasures are entwined in my pieces. Being a big believer in reuse, recycle and reinventing I am always digging in my archives to come up with something wonderful - usually having to do with the wonders of our past. If you don't see it in the shop feel free to send me a message I'm sure I have what your searching for.
Currently you can find us in our little store front in an awesome town in upstate NY called Saugerties , We are located at 105 partition Street. For up to the minute goings on come like our face book page at Rayann's Creative Instinct.

I feel very blessed that the Lord has granted me with the God-given talent of creativity and I thank him every day for it. If anything, we hope to meet some nice people. We are truly convo friendly. Anytime with your wish list or just to say “hi.” Happy hunting to you all!

Thanks for the visit,
Rayann & Jake
