About

When I was in kindergarten my teacher visited my parents to discuss my behavior. The problem? I was telling stories, quite seriously, about my pet giraffe and the huge strawberry in my backyard, a strawberry as big as the garage. I’m sure my parents dutifully spoke to me about the difference between imagination and truth, but I’m not sure what sort of impact it had. I still like making things up, imagining. I picture that little kindergarten me, so joyful and free, able to conjure giraffes and giant strawberries without the filter of adult “truth.” What a lot I could learn from her. My Giant Strawberry is my attempt to recapture some of that creativity, that childlike wonder and joy. It’s a reminder to Dream Big.
