I am a treasure hunter, a gatherer, a nester. I will dig through, dig in, look under and over and I will shamelessly go through items left on the curb as trash. I am this way and I have always been this way. Looking, always looking for things of beauty.
As a child as now I delight in unexpected things of beauty. To discover them the reward. Whether an object or fleeting glimpse of a rainbow left by the rain on an oil spot or the sheen of a quartz shard on a gravel drive, the reflection of a luminous shell, I gather. Many tiny pebbles and agates, shells and fossils I gathered as a child I still have in an old jar.
My car has its own personality as my found objects bounce along in the back.. There is always something riding along back there. I frequent thrift stores that benefit people and animals, garage and estate sales, curbs and boutiques. I look for beauty and I look for history. Really I'm not sure I find things or that they find me.
Whichever I've found lots of stuff. Most I love and am glad to have seen these things because had I not been looking I would have never seen it. Now I'm glad to have found it, learned about it, photographed it and to describe it to you. It feels good to have others see what I've seen and for them to appreciate these treasures as what they are treasures whether useful or just plain beautiful. Thanks, thanks for looking and thanks for allowing me to share with you what I find.
I'm looking forward to making new friends who like me appreciate things of beauty and items with a history and character.
