I have been sewing all of my life. As a child, my mom let us sew on an old industrial sewing machine. We made everything on that old machine. While obtaining a degree in Home Economics education, I worked in a clothing factory in Cincinnati, making school band uniforms. I learned much about the real world those summers, what hard work really was and mostly the value of a dollar.
The next thirty years were spent teaching Home Economics to middle schoolers. It was a joy seeing my students master the sewing machine and learn valuable life skills. I am now semi-retired from education with time on my hands to once again get out my sewing machine.
Having a business is not totally new to me. I ran another small clothing company in the eighties. The only difference now is that in additon to going to stores, I can communicate by way of the internet. I…
