About

Hi there!

Natuur/-e is a combination of the French and Flemish (Dutch from Belgium) words for nature. Although you probably won't find this word anywhere in the dictionary, I decided to make it my own by adding those funky little marks you see in dictionaries that tell you how to pronounce a word and what endings can be added to the root of it. Despair not, since I made this one up, I will pronounce it like you pronounce nature in English. Although if you, like me, are from some where else in this great world of ours, you're welcome to make up your own pronounciation. Let me know what you come up with! I'd be interested to know how many ways we can pronounce this one. : )

I am an artist living about 30 mins north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Many of the creations in this shop are inspired by my observation of the world around us, specifically nature. I will often use natural elements I have found on my hikes or will use materials that are reminiscent in shape or color to nature's most beautiful facets. Often, my art will be reflective of a minimalist, organic style. I will also try to recycle as much of as possible during my creative process which may often be visible in my art (I may use recycled papers or materials within the work itself).
