My painting of water colors began in 1988 after raising 6 children from various nations. My love of the earth, the earth's children, the oceans and forests drives my desire to develop worthy expressions of their beauty and value. The destruction of the major coral reef, the amazon rain forest, and the suffering of 100's of 1000's of children at the hand of mans industries and greed and wars has become a never ending source of deep sadness. To acknowledge their plight through the medium of water color and collage is my hope.
My primary work is play therapy with children who have been adopted and with children attending Head Start who are experiencing impoverished and chaotic homes. I paint when I have time. I have shown in various venues, Including the Anderson gallery in McMinnville Oregon, a featured artist in Troutdale First Friday, and being among the top 100 of the Painting America competition in 2006.
