Welcome to LINENS ETCETERA

At my first shop on Etsy, Delightfully Vintage, I have been selling vintage jewelry and accessories since Oct. 2009, with many satisfied customers and have a 100% sales rating. I have now expanded my love of vintage linens and other vintage items through my second shop, Linens Etcetera. Along with vintage linens, crochet, embroidery, and knitted items are also the "etcetera"....vintage household and kitchen items, vanity, collectibles, art pottery, books, cookbooks, ephemera, art and anything else that is vintage you might enjoy. I like expanding my knowledge through research of vintage items I sell and passing that on to my customers....thus the "Preserving History Through Vintage" statement in my shop name banner.

My mother was always working on a handiwork project. In the winter she would be knitting, in the summer she'd be at her treadle sewing machine making beautiful clothes for the two of us and other people. You might also find her embroidering a pillow case or crocheting a doily in the evenings. She was always busy and produced such an abundance of wonderful itrems. I learned early to appreciate the time and effort that went into making these beautiful pieces of love. Some of the items I sell through Linens Etcetera are items she made and I will state that in my descriptions.

I retired in June 2008 after a career in St. Louis, Missouri for over 40 yrs. The last 25 yrs. were in Human Resources. At last I am free doing what I really love and I am far from being actually retired! I live with my sweetheart, Alan, six loveable kitties and a german shepard named Pepper. Alan and I moved on Thanksgiving Day 2008 to a nice house on 10 acres in the south central Missouri Ozarks. Our furry family we have acquired since then. There are hundreds of acres surrounding us so this 10 acres feels like so much more, and we are at the end of a dirt road so there is a lot of privacy....something to be thankful for after living in apartments and houses cramped together most of my life. We have forests of tall pine (they smell so good), oak trees and wildlife galore! Many clear rivers and streams are nearby that are popular to float in the summer and fall. We love to plant a big vegetable garden each year, the produce of which we freeze or can, and have begun planting fruit and nut trees. In the summer nights with the windows open, the cool breeze comes in and I fall asleep to the songs of crickets, frogs and my resident whipporwil....no sirens, traffic sounds, loud parties or close neighbors. Just pure peace.
