About

I love working with my hands and I am constantly learning new ways of doing things, new techniques, new crafts - I’m a proud multi-crafter.

Knitting, crocheting, lace making, ribbons, beading, needlework, sewing and some occasional detours into non-fiber crafts keep me sane in a high paced life with two young boys, husband and my own software consulting business.

I’ve learned to knit, crochet and sew in elementary school in Switzerland and have lived now for 20 years in very different parts of the US (Hawaii, Southern Cal, Chicago, Denver). I have enjoyed every “stop” so far.

3 years ago I took the plunge of getting some of my designs published and was fortunate enough to be picked-up by major magazines (e.g. Vogue Knitting, Interweave Knits, Designer Knitting, Creative Knitting, Knit…

Vogue Knitting, Interweave Knits, Designer Knitting, Creative Knitting, Knit Simple, Crochet World), online magazines (Knit Picks IDP, Petite Purls, Knitcircus), yarn companies (Kollage Yarns, Universal Yarns) and if time allows, I self-publish some of my patterns.

Visit my blog (http://nikkistudio.blogspot.com) or find me on Ravelry.com (username: nikkisstudio) to see all of my designs or to follow my crafting adventure.

I am also the founder of the online fiber resource directory "Local Fibers.com" that helps connect fiber producers with fiber artists to support local small businesses.

If you are a fiber producer, please visit the site and submit a free listing. The more join, the more useful it will be for all of us.

I definitely live by my little motto of: ”LIFE - Live It Fully Everyday”

I hope you will enjoy my handmade items as much as I have enjoyed making them.

Cheers and thank you for stopping by!
