Noelle's Profile

About

Designing and fabricating jewelry in some form for over 16 years now, Noelle originally wanted to be a fashion designer and, so just out of high school and without even a day's break she went on to FIDM...but in the long run jewelry won out! It started just as a hobby, Noelle would re-work antique pocket watch chains into necklaces using old watch fobs, seals, crosses, medals and whatever else ahe could find on weekend outings to local flea markets.

She made one of a kind necklaces just for herself but soon for friends as well. Apparently she caught the bug, because she soon taught herself how to bead, string pearls & wire-wrap. When Noelle's first collection sold out at a local boutique she thought 'ok wow, I might actually be good at this?'. So she went on to study metalsmithing at UCLA with teacher- Ralph Goldstein. Ralph was determined to keep the old world art of jewelry fabrication alive in his students. He made sure that his students knew how to make everything from absolute scratch, instead of taking shortcuts and buying pre-made parts etc. (something Noelle questioned him about on her first day, but received a knowing smile...). UCLA really opened up a world of creative possibilities to Noelle, broadening the scope of what she could could dream of doing do in a big way. So much so that, still today, she's constantly thinking up new designs and new dreams. Noelle is infatuated with color, precious and semi-precious natural gemstones are a big passion. Stay tuned for some awesome new (and colorful) jewelry coming very soon!
