About

I am 59 yrs. old - hispanic. I am divorced with 3 grown kids (twin girls-20 and son-24). My daughter Carey and my son Clint live with me in Arlington, TX (Dallas suburb). I stay home to care for my disabled daughter and work out of my home. I started making jewelry when I discovered and fell in love with gemstones. I figured out that I could take beautiful beads, add components, wire, string, chain, or whatever I wanted and create something beautiful that nobody else had .... and I could make it as big as I wanted to! I've always had a flair for the "unusual" and "unique". Whether it be clothing, coats, footwear, handbags, jewelry, hair accessories and even sunglasses, department stores never had what I was looking for but instead boring and common merchandise and EVERYBODY had that!

Since I didn't want what everybody else had, everything I purchased, I would take home and "re-do" it!. Whatever it was, I took it apart and altered it in one or more ways. Anything from removing collars, adding ruffles, turning an A-line to a gathered or pleated, from long to short, lace to fur or vice-versa. It could be any number of things or maybe even just one thing but I had to change something until I got the look I wanted. My family and friends were always surprised when they found out my outfit (or whatever) was the very same one they had seen me purchase. I used to catch so much grief whenever family members saw me taking things apart, I had to hide sometimes! But I never wore anything the same way I bought it. I was about 12 yrs. old when I began doing this and I'm still doing it at 59! I guess old habits do die hard! I also enjoy embellishing tall boots, making fur and/or feather boot covers, leg warmers, embellish handbags, sunglasses, coats, jackets, etc. I have gobs of stuff in my home of my designs and creations so my kids, family and friends are always telling me "why don't you sell this stuff"? But, because of my time constraints due to caring for my child who has Cerebal Palsy and requires 24 hour care, I don't feel I could do it at this time. So, for now, I just work on my designs when time allows and if someone comes over and sees something they like, I just give it to them! I love doing that!! Maybe some day I can list with Etsy and let you guys see my stuff, but for now, I just BUY from Etsy!!
