Through the years I have done many crafts but none have given me the satisfaction and fun I get from making beaded and dichroic jewelry. With beading, I get to design the style, pick the beads and colors I want to use and experiment with different stiches to make new designs.
With Dichroic jewelry you have many colors and patterns to work with, so the first step is to put layers of dichroic glass together and fire in a kiln up to 1500 degrees. You really don't know what the colors will look like until you open the kiln. I am always surprised at the end results, you never know what it will look like. Then it is shaped with a grinder and put back in the kiln for the second firing. This process continues until you achieve the desired results. As a result most pieces are one of a kind jewelry.
I put a lot of love into my pieces and have a lot of fun doing it.
